Clevatess tries a fresh approach on the action fantasy adventure, instead of seeking out the demonlord, the demonlord is essentially the main character. He is basically an anti hero, and is curious about people.

Fantasy stories are usually great at world building, and Clevatess is no exception. I will say one thing this show excels at are displaying the stakes in the most grandiose ways possible. Overall, it's relatively simple, but checked all the boxes and a few extras for it's novelty and hype.

From beginning to end, Clevatess is a concise, complete, and entertaining story that really stood out in Summer 2025 for me. Highly recommend, ... would rewatch for sure

This is seriously underrated! Mao is a story about time-travel and Japanese mythology, that takes place primarily in the past, and essentially has two main characters. Mao is the MC from the past, and Nanoka is the MC from the present. The plot is basically about the two of them trying to figure out as much as they can question: why time travel works, what connections they may have, what are the dangers, etc. The production value is very solid, as in the animation, voice acting, colors, are all above average in my opinion.

I'm going to compare this show to another from this season, that ... has a very similar premise: Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Both shows have blend of historic Japan and the modern world, with mythology being a key aspect, as well as having 24 or more episodes. My issue with that show after 8 episodes was that it didn't spend as much time diving into the plot as I would have liked. With Mao, I feel like the show is taking itself seriously and explaining most of the things we want to know about, and making it clear when the characters are also not sure what is going on.

One of the main aspects that kept me watching is the humor. A lot of the characters besides maybe Nanoka kinda have the same facial expression most of the time, but I think it works because everyone definitely knows how to joke around. The humor is definitely has a deadpan approach, which fits well with the emotionless faces most characters have.

The plot has a clear goal in mind. many questions you may have will be answered in a reasonable amount of time, and we'll have to wait and see for the ones left unanswered. Another great part of the show is that if you are invested, there will be (I could be wrong) 26 episodes running together! So this show has got your Saturdays covered in both Spring and Summer 2026. It's probably my favorite from this Spring. If you are interested, it appears that the first 13 episodes are deeply connected, and the next 13 appear to be the next arc, so now would be a good time to binge. I might need to start reading it once the anime is over! Thanks for reading~

In the vast sea of fantasy and isekai shows, it can be tough to know where to start. Delicious in Dungeon is not my first fantasy anime, but it honestly might be the best one I've seen. There is SO MUCH more to this story beneath the surface.

The main cast are overall pretty funny and goofy, my favorite being the MC Laios. He is pretty quiet, but when he does talk it's usually hilariously silly. Marcille usually serves as the person to say "Oh no that's gross", but she is also quite amusing and caring. Chilchuck is the necessary straight man of the group; he ... is very cynical and a little obnoxious at times with his snide comments. Senshi is a straight man to a degree, but also has some moments where he tweaks out over food. Overall, there is real depth to all of these characters; they are deeply connected to the story, and it really starts to pick up about halfway through.

Let me tell you the truth about dubbed anime: Once you find a good one, you cannot go back. (For that anime) Personally, one of the best reasons to watch a dub is to hear the slang and nuanced voices in a language you understand. This show made me laugh out loud many times, precisely because of the voice acting. We also are kinda forced to watch in sub usually since that is the only available version at launch most of the time. I've seen the word "offbeat" used to describe Dungeon Meshi, and it definitely fits. There are a few instances where the story breaks narrative trends and does the thing we always wondered what might happen instead.

The writing, stakes, and themes are all very sound. Dungeon Meshi may appear to be a simple gourmet show about dungeons, but in reality, it's a fantasy juggernaut packed with a side of humor and cooking. I am going to need to read the manga ahead of season 2, which will likely finish the series, thankfully its not very long. Thank you for the meal!!

Hell's Paradise does a fantastic job of setting itself up, introducing and dismissing characters that matter, reaching the climax, then wrapping up smoothly and swiftly, in a way I believe allows it to be compared equally to other genre defining series like the big 3 and more.

It shines because it accomplishes the same storylines and character arcs as the top dogs, in only a fraction of the chapters. The premise is very attractive, there are many characters who have their stories, but they have to put it all aside to explore the mysterious island. What this manga did is exactly what I wanted from ... post anime Hunter X Hunter. If Hell's Paradise was a long running series, it very well could have reached the popularity heights of the other 2018 mangas like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man.

One of the main motifs in this series is the idea of the middle way. To accept the weakness and strength within yourself and move forward. This is a very healthy way of living, and there are a lot of characters within that give similar lessons. Not saying Jigokuraku invented it, but its also directly tied to a large portion of the story. I will say, one complaint I've seen is that people feel like some of the arcs/characters are rushed/incomplete, but I have to disagree. One thing to keep in mind in any story is that not every character needs stay as long as the protagonists. A character can appear for only 1 or 2 episodes and still have an enormous impact on others and the story. There are a few of those in Hell's Paradise.

I'd like to reiterate the length of this story, there are 128 chapters. Many other popular series get the job done in around 100 chapters or less, i.e. Mob Psycho, Full Metal Alchemist, and I'd like to add Hell's Paradise to that list if it's not already there. I get that some writers really just love writing and keep their stories going for a long time, while some of them just hit a point where they think it's time to wrap it up. There is nothing inherently wrong with either side, however, the most important thing is the status/health of the story.

Overall, this series is definitely worth your time, as it won't take much of it. It is currently probably my favorite manga, and is in my top 3 anime to look forward to. I had to get this review out before season 2, as I'm currently rewatching season 1 and rereading in preparation. While this series may not have the recognition it deserves yet, it established itself nearly perfectly; I hope in the next anime/manga boom Hell's Paradise becomes an inspiration for new stories, since it set a great example of delivering an exciting action adventure without all the added fluff. I'm seated and will always look forward to future adaptations. ❤‍🔥

Gachiakuta is here to stay, it would be wise to invest now if you're curious. The first half of the season might seem slow, but everything starts to pick up about halfway through the season, and I expect (I've read it too) season 2 to keep up the pace, and potentially even go farther. The final 2 episodes of the season did a fantastic job prepping for season 2.

Overall, this series doesn't stray too far away from the norms of battle shonen, but on occasion it does break common story patterns in merciless ways. I usually preface reviews of my favorite series by saying they ... are not ground breaking, but are pretty enjoyable. Gachiakuta is just that. Characters grow and have an impact, it'll have you thinking about waste and recycling, which in the age of information and consumption overload, rings very strong and true.

This series has become another that I really look forward to, which can be difficult now since many long running series have been wrapping up. I see Gachiakuta rising to become a pillar in anime and manga, so I'll be keeping a close eye to see how it gets there. ♻🗑

Chaos, over the top action, and people getting beat up with random shit. This is Sakamoto Days! Part 2 is one of the best adaptations I've ever seen, the new OP perfectly reflected the wacky personality of this series.

Sakamoto Days is one of my favorite series, so it was pretty painful to hear so many people discontent with part 1. It hurt even more when I realized that I agreed with some of the criticisms. But part 2 really cranked up the juice. If you feel like part 1 isn't for you, try watching this instead.

Part 2 wrapped up flawlessly, closed out the arc ... of the cour, and gave us a lot to look forward to in season 2. Before I go let me say this, Sakamoto Days is by no means ground breaking. I'm not gonna lie and say its the greatest manga or anime, but its fun and funny. Comedy can make a huge difference in any situation. It's genuinely been a while since an anime made me laugh this much. Easily my favorite of 2025.

Gachiakuta has realistic writing, great pacing, characters that matter, and a complex mystery/conflict that truly hooked me. It does have some of your standard tropes, but not at all to its detriment; it regularly shatters story stereotypes in its own ruthless way. Gachiakuta has the potential to be a leading series in its genre, if it isn't already. A must read for fans of battle shonen. I'm not sure how many more chapters we are looking at, maybe 50-100, so about 200-300 total.

Humor is pretty solid and adorable at times. Rudo is a very reasonable MC, as he is super self aware and progressive. ... Just give him time. The general mood can be dirty and vulgar, but that's definitely part of the charm. It would fit right in with 2000s anime. All in all, Gachiakuta seems to be checking most of the necessary boxes, plus bonus points for having a healthy black representation. I'm truly looking forward to seeing the mystery solved and the journey along the way. 🤘🏿🚮

I've deduced that Dandadan is not the kind of series you read, you must turn your brain off to watch it. DDD does not want you to think about anything, only to react. I say this because the plot and character direction are far too chaotic and incoherent to be taken seriously in any capacity. I genuinely care about the well being of this series, but anime watchers and readers deserve so much more. I was very pleased and a little surprised to hear the general concensus for the anime was so positive.

Here we go, this is my first review: Dandadan.This will be spoiler free, ... mostly focused on the manga. We read/watch for many reasons, to have fun, enjoy a complex story, romance, action, etc. With the Dandadan manga, I genuinely have no idea what the author is trying to tell me. I saw in a different review that Dandadan is a story for middle schoolers who are trying to act like high schoolers/adults. (The humor primarily) And I fully agree, as respectfully as I can be. The romance (when it does appear, which is not often, is also not taken seriously) and art are solid. DDD in the long term is more like an art gallery than a story.

What this manga needs is to take itself seriously just a little bit and flush out its identity. Your identity can be chaotic, but it can get obnoxiously repetitive when there is aggressively half-baked and or no character building/ plot progression over 100+ chapters. I blame Chainsaw Man for letting creators think they can do LITERALLY anything with their story. Modern mangas are around 100-300 chapters now, we don't have time to mess around for years. That's why many other recent manga endings have felt so unfulfilling. My rating went down to a 6 from an 8 because of the unapologetic monotony within this series. I do not look forward to the weekly read if I do get to it. Thanks
