| Don't believe in science. It's just what we think we know when we really don't know anything. Science was man made so how can people believe it but say religion is bs? It doesn't make much sense. If you don't believe in one you can't believe in the other. Science in essence is nature. It's just there. A reaction is nature, not science. Everything made has been here we just put it together and it worked. Nature is all we need. |

It's a language for people to describe the world. religion is stuck like a book. Science isnt a choice of belief its a development of knowledge, its open to constant and thorough change. As I type this science is changing, papers are being peer reviewed, models and theories questioned and disproved. Everything said in science needs to be proven, with evidence, with logic, with numbers, with intelligence, its not an opinion. If you dont 'believe' something in science and you can firmly prove otherwise then the science can change. I think whats trying to be said is that its our way of understanding the world. Maths and physics underlie science and hence there's biology and chemistry too. You can say in essence its understanding how nature works but its not a religion. Science underlies all the technology, your medicine, your mortality and almost everything in your life. You say nature just gave us everything and you put it together but its science that pushed forward that 'putting together' like your computer would never come about naturally, you shouldnt take everything science has brought you for granted or undermine the constant work of scientists across the world. |

| There's actually some religions that grow and change. Christianity and Buddhism are two examples. Science changes because natures changes all the time. And some people treat science as fact, or if we can't prove it through science it's not real which I don't agree with. Science can also contradict itself at times but no one cares. I don't take it for granted but I just believe it's nature. Medicine comes from nature. Technology as well. I feel we have put science on too high a pedestal @jixte |

| Welp, I just saw a thought process that really blows my mind away that someone from this century can ever think. First and foremost, Science is simply: is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe. It's not even a belief system... |

| There isn't any good reason to believe in religion, and it's certainly not something you "know" under what religious people call "absolute knowledge". It's a delusion that you'd believe something you have no evidence or good reason for i.e god. Believing in science is intelligent because of it's continued reliability. |

I feel we have put science on too high a pedestal @jixte Tbh I agree with you in that if it cant be proven with science doesnt mean its not real, I was raised by a religious family like you can get religious scientists. I went to very religious schools that were also science schools xD Theres still many unanswered questions out there tbh xD I dont think its on a high enough pedestal tbh xD theres still children and vulnerable people dying from the anti-vax movement or pseudoscience gaining culture, it wouldnt matter so much if this lack of 'belief' didnt cause death >< Also the science community does care if something contradicts, it will work and debate until the answer is found, its constantly debating issues, every piece of evidence critically analysed, its a constant issue that wont ever go unnoticed, the point of a scientist is to question everything, so people shouldnt ever treat it as a fact, it should be questioned but questioned with evidence not statement or random opinion or 'belief' ^.^ btw Im studying as an ecological scientist so nature is basically what i hope my life's work to be, dont get me wrong i love nature and science as one xD sorry if i rambled, very passionate D; |

Religion is too(?) - Anything that was developed by man, in a spiritual sense or otherwise is "man made." This is not to say Religion isn't more than we make it out to be, likewise for Science - it's just saying that it's a construct we've made regardless of it's origin. Yes Science is man-made. Humans strive for control (whether this be positive or negative) and to facilitate control over the natural world we quantify it - hence we have Science. Now this is bad and good; bad in the sense that we heavily over analyse things but good in the sense that it leads to human innovation. The only "natural" elements around us would be the sun, the grass, the trees, etc (assuming they've not been modified in some way). Of course they also don't have these names; they are simply objects which we've "defined." Don't think too far into it, it'll get confusing. To answer the original question, yes Science is man-made. |

That becomes contradictory because if it is "incomplete", then something not lining up with what we know now is not an issue because it could very well turn out that it lines up down the road. That is one of the problems with trying to compare a static position to a changing one. The one that changes could always revert to the static, then change, then do so over and over again. Just as an aside, there are plenty of things that were "known" thousands of years ago that are still accepted pretty much universally today. Even more interesting, there are things that were "known" thousands of years ago that were rejected later on but were once again accepted recently because it turns out they were right all along. Go figure, eh? To summarize, science cannot be "wrong" because it is a methodology with no voice. Scientists on the other hand can most certainly be wrong for several reasons including new information, but also interpreting current information in the wrong way or arriving at erroneous conclusions based on pre-established viewpoints and notions. |

| Obvious troll topic, but i feel like posting anyways. You can't talk about science when you don't know what science is. It's origins surpass even the oldest of mythologies and religions, and have even been the philosophical basis for the origins of numerous religions in the endeavour so draw a picture to fill in the gaps of that which we do not understand. Science is a methodology, with it's origins before recorded history, and has gone through many phases. The most accurate and clear explanations come from ancient Greece, of which a lot of important philosophies and denotations were lost in inference by those who came after. People trying to interpret things that were far more sophisticated than their meager experiences could allow them to understand leads to misunderstandings, which leads to delusions and dogma. You aren't going to understand the power of science without understanding ἀνάγκη(ananke, approximately means "necessity" or "inevitability", the unavoidable fact of there only being one objective truth). The same happens in science even today. Much of the great works of electrical engineers and theorists like Faraday, Maxwell, Heaviside, Tesla, Steinmetz, are contorted, lost, misunderstood and bent to the will of those who're victim to the dogma of particle-psychosis, which is just a new-age atomist cult which they call "quantum". You're wasting your time criticizing things you don't understand, and favouring other things which you equally don't understand. Buddhism is a monistic ontology of the most hardcore kind, but over the ages it was perverted into this convoluted mass of biased thinking which goes against the oldest of writings of the principles of buddhism itself (have fun reading ancient Pali). Don't get me started on Christianity, because they're just glorified plagiarists, and one of the religions with the most ignorance-driven inhumane atrocities to it's name. |
