After reading the manga I finished the LN and the WN like a rabid dog the writing quality and depth of the entire story is too good.
Right now as I'm writing this review the manga has finished the first Arc which I'd say is probably the weakest of the 10 arcs we have in terms of writing. Also I have to add this manga is in no way shape of form similar to Youjo Senki even though they seem similar this manga is a grim piece of WW1 content with a fantasy veneer
Even though the adaptation is incredible and enhanced what the LN had ... to another level with the art its not as good as the LN since in the LN there are a bunch on monologues that Touri has that converge to tell a deeper story its also from the POV of someone else who has found this diary and is reading it with us, normally that can be an annoying thing but here its masterfully done I can't tell you why since it would be a major spoiler but trust me

Anyways READ THIS MANGA/LN NOW if you like tragedies in any way this is a must read that will make you bawl your eyes multiple times

One of the best pieces of fiction I've ever experienced the TS and Isekai may make a few people approach the novel with caution but its quite literally just decorative the writing of this novel is simply on another level even though the LN isn't fully out yet I highly recommend the WN (doesn't mean the LN is bad in fact LN has exclusive chapters that increase the stories depth)

Without spoilers the story follows a girl that volunteered for the army at age 15 named Touri and how she struggles to survive on the frontlines slowly losing her sanity and comrades, The story is ... too cruel which is why its one of the best depictions of war ever

I guarantee you will cry a few times reading this novel and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves also your experience of the story might be enhanced if you have read "All is quiet on the Western Front" since there are quite a bit of references here and there but its not anything major so don't feel obligated to read it
