Oh what a coincidence lol, I might decide whether to watch House of the Dragon depending on how season 3 does then.

I'm not having high hopes for Pluribus, but at least it's a decent watch either way, Vince Gilligan's directing is still entertaining.
A show about cooking, huh? Sounds interesting, it's a huge industry that doesn't get talked about enough, I'll add it to my list.

My favorites are not that far off from yours but my list is smaller in comparison, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, The Office, and Chernobyl are the ones I consider to be top tier, half of Game of Thrones would be there as well, then there's good shows like Dexter, Scrubs, The Last of Us and Daredevil, I haven't really watched enough shows to make a big list, I have a habit of rewatching something every once in a while, so my progress is very slow.
Well, this next anime season looks very underwhelming, so I'm probably going to watch some of these shows, I'm mostly interested in Succession and Ted Lasso right now, The Bear too if I can fit it in.

Yeah the romance ending felt out of place, sure it didn't come out of nowhere but that was never the focus of the story, in fact, Eren never showed any interest in Mikasa romantically, this is why I'm not convinced that Isayama had it all planned for from the beginning.
Oh he switched his favorite character twice! I guess he likes them both then, I also heard that he was planning to kill off Sasha in season 2, but she was the editor's favorite character so he let her live on for a little longer.

It might be ADHD lol! It's actually more of a habit, I like drawing, and I used to draw while watching anime as a kid, so it just stuck, unless I'm watching something really good and engaging, if I'm not keeping my hands busy with something else I get bored easily.

Yeah life was so simple and everything used to be more valuable back then, the thing I miss the most is how excited and curious I used to be about anime and videogames, now I'm only watching anime to stay alive, same as you lol.

The era when youtubers were edgy and controversial was the best, recently I watched a video where they censored the word "gunshot" and blurred a cigar, it's beyond stupid!

I just checked out your list and remembered 4 shows that I've been planning to watch for a while, Succession, Ted Lasso, The Wire, and The Day of the Jackal.
I also haven't watched House of Dragons and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms yet, although I've been constantly watching clips of Game of Thrones on youtube recently.
Nice list man, I wish I could make one for movies and TV shows but I wouldn't know where to begin.

Yeah Pluribus could've been good, but unfortunately most of it was filler, this is what happens when the show's biggest plot twist is that there's no plot twist, it just kept us all anticipating progress with cliffhangers each episode, only to take a step back in the next one, you could jump from episode 2 to 9 and you won't miss anything.
I never heard of The Bear btw, what's it about?

The only thing that gave me relief about the ending was that Gabi wasn't the one to land the finishing blow on Eren at the end, my friends and I had a bet about that, one of them was sure this is what the show was building up to (and technically he wasn't wrong, considering she sniped his head off once, but he was saved by Zeke so he doesn't win the bet).
Really? I could've sworn I heard Isayama's favorite character was Jean, maybe he changed his mind in later seasons? Jean didn't seem to matter all that much by the end compared to Reiner anyway.
Interesting fact btw, most mangaka favor secondary characters from their work, you'll rarely find someone who says their favorite character is the protagonist, and that's because main characters are often designed to fit certain standards set by the publishers, so the writer's true thoughts and feelings are usually represented by a secondary character that they have the freedom to write however they want.

Interesting, I actually managed to get through such a big anime list because I play videogames while watching, that's why I mostly play simple games that I can mute while playing, and I never got into online gaming, in fact, I own a PS5 and I still consider the PS2 the golden age of videogames and replay some of its games every now and then, mainly Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Need for Speed Underground 2.

Oh I've got into a lot of big youtube channels, but never watched a single Pewdiepie video! Speaking of The Last of Us, did you watch the show? It's pretty good.

Yeah the ending would've been way better if Eren remained a villain till the end and had a fitting motive, something like he genuinely wants to wipe out humanity outside of the walls, would've been ironic since he started with wanting to kill titans instead.
Also, why's Reiner still alive at the end? lol it felt like Isayama was familiar with the "Plot Armor Titan" meme and wanted to keep it consistent.

That's how it is when we watch hundreds of shows lol I actually found that rewatching good shows is a good way to heal yourself up from the burn out, although a hiatus works too, good thing you're back btw, I know people who stopped watching anime altogether.

Yeah SnK was a tragic case of a writer surrendering to the pressure of high expectations, Isayama wrote himself into a corner because he felt he needed to over complicate the story to have an impactful ending, while the show's first few seasons were great for being simple.
Personally I did not like the time travel twist and the over fixation on Eren's master plan, or to be accurate, it was the type of plot that depended entirely on the finale, I couldn't judge it in anyway before the end because nothing had been revealed yet, I had no choice but to wish for a great finale that makes sense of all the twists, but I knew in my guts that the series was heading towards a disaster and sadly I wasn't wrong, in the end Eren's motive for everything he's done was "because Isayama said so".
You ever think about how you wish the show had ended? Do you have any specific ideas?

I see, I guess I'll add Solo Leveling to my list, which do you recommend more? the anime or the manhwa?

If my previous job wasn't physically demanding I would've given it a chance back then, it's hard enough going to the gym normally after work let alone doing boxing training, maybe it's possible with my current job though, I guess it's time to rewatch Ippo again haha.

It's probably because anime/manga has always been my main hobby, I even considered starting a youtube channel at some point, if I do today I'll just be crapping over most popular shows and enraging my viewers lol.

I 100% can relate, I've watched Texhnolyze back in high school, used to expect cool fights and ended up disappointed, as if that's the standard for anime, if there's no Super Saiyan then it's bad. I also hated Evangelion and Monster because I didn't understand what was going on, and then I got into the elitist phase and forced myself to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes because that's what every intellectual anime fan did, took me 3 years to finish it btw lol.
I rewatched all of these shows at some point, along with Gankutsuou, Ghost in the Shell and Perfect Blue, and I loved all of them.
About 3 years ago I realized that I've stopped enjoying anime because I turned into a cynical person who hates everything new, so I took a long break from social media and seasonal anime, this is the first season in years where I watch a bunch of shows week by week, most of them are not even that good but who cares? I'm having a good time.
What about you? You said you took a break from anime for years, what was it about? Were you busy with something else or were you just fed up with anime?

You think Solo Leveling is worth watching? I didn't watch it btw, I only heard about it and understood that it's not for me, basically I hate the idea of the mc being overpowered.

Yeah the Ravages of Time gave me the same feeling, I couldn't finish the first volume, but then again many good shows had the same problem at the start, so I didn't want to judge it too soon.

Oh I just remembered I actually did read about 30 chapters from the manga too, way before the anime got released.
I remember I liked the premise a lot, but it was thrown away too soon and just turned into an average battle shounen, I'll give it another chance though, I actually love the creative world and character design theme.

I actually do obsess over anime and manga, looked up every studio and director under the sun, but I only listen to music when I'm driving or taking a walk, it's not something I spend too much time on in general.
Also it's not Jazz in particular, I love listening to relaxing music in the background while working.

Yeah the Chinese can't be underestimated, Koreans on the other hand, I remember how much people hyped up the Manhwa adaptations Tower of God, God of High School, and Solo Leveling, I didn't like any of them, they felt like they were lacking in writing experience, especially God of High School, felt like something I would've come up with as a kid while playing with action figures, maybe I'm being too harsh? lol.

Yeah I bought a sandbag and boxing gloves back when I watched Ippo, glad I didn't end up drifting down a mountain after watching Initial D, although you might end up doing it lol.

Honestly I feel silly for bringing up music since I'm clueless when it comes to this topic, I have a habit of throwing random songs into a playlist and never even learn most of their names, I literally named the playlist Cocktail Music, it has everything from pop songs to videogame OSTs, I rarely look up and follow a specific band or a singer.

Jazz is one of those things I've always been into but not in a straight forward way, I always liked listening to it in the background, but never actually memorized any specific bands or singers, I usually just search for a playlist on youtube.

Not to be pessimistic, but you haven't missed a lot within the years where you stopped watching anime, there are a few good shows and you've probably seen most of them already.
Speaking of which, I see you haven't watched Look Back, it's a very good movie made by the same creator of Chainsaw Man, actually all of his other manga are great too.

As for Chinese anime, I haven't watched any but I've seen clips on social media, all I know is that some of them have great animation full of sakuga moments, story-wise the only one that got popular is Link Click (Shiguang Dailiren), they say it's similar to Steins;Gate.
I may check out a Chinese anime if someone recommended it to me, but so far Link Click is the only one I'm planning to watch.

Honestly I'm betting on the possibility that the adaptation will get better when we reach round 3, the Contraband game, many shows start off weak until they reach a popular arc of the story.

Some of the old Gundam shows didn't age well, but Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans is one of the few modern mecha anime that didn't go full CG with the mechs, it looks great and has some of the coolest Gundam designs, specifically Gundam Barbatos, also it has a great story and characters.
I haven't finished Origin btw, I should get onto that soon.

Initial D gives me Hajime no Ippo vibes in how it feels realistically masculine, the characters feel like guys hanging out and messing around when they're not racing, and it has the sports anime charm of getting deep into the sport itself.

Speaking of which, taking a look at your favorites reminded me of 3 shows that I haven't finished yet! Shinsekai Yori, Cowboy Bebop, and Vinland Saga S2! So now my list is getting even bigger!

Oh you read Liar Game already! I rarely run into people here who've read this manga, and I agree, it's Madhouse, the studio that made Death Note, Kaiji and One Outs, it's sad what they did to this adaptation, and from the look of it they won't be fixing the rushed ending either, but we'll see.

Yeah I definitely recommend Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans if you're into mecha, it's a very unique story and has a mind blowing ending that split the audience.

Honestly I don't know why I held back with my recommendations and only looked for something popular, even though your life depends on it (I'm not a hero man).
Since you have a broad taste in anime, I have a few more recommendations:
Kakushigoto, a comedy with a hint of drama about a single dad who wants to keep his profession a secret from his daughter, as he works on drawing ecchi manga.
Initial D, a classic sports anime with an adult cast about car racing.
Shadows House, a very creative fantasy/mystery.

I'm actually impressed by your recommendations, I don't know how I've never heard of Hyouge Mono and Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru, even though they have high ratings and interesting genres! I literally went through every single anime all the way to the last available year on MAL at some point (it's 1917 btw), and somehow still missed these two! Man I had a lot of free time back then!

I'm familiar with the rest, Mushishi and Pluto are already on my plan list, although I'm leaning towards reading Pluto's manga since I own it, as for Moriarty I don't remember why I chose to ignore it, but if you say it's good I'll add it to the list.

If your life depends on it I guess I can help lol, I see you only have Golden Kamuy on your watching list, do you usually ignore seasonal anime?

This season has some good shows so I'm watching those, the most interesting one is Liar Game, it's full of mind games like Death Note, the adaptation hasn't been doing it justice, but I'm a fan of the manga so I know how brilliant it's gonna get, it's worth considering.

If you want an already finished show to binge, I recommend Tengoku Daimakyou and Bocchi the Rock.
