Kaijuu 8-gou 2nd Season

Following the massive operation that led to the confinement of recent recruit Kafka Hibino, otherwise known as Kaijuu No. 8, the Defense Force has been puzzled by how to deal with him. Kafka is the first kaijuu to side with humans, and after careful consideration, he is eventually transferred to the Defense Force's First Division in the hope of adding his power to the strongest division, capable of handling any threat. However, some people are still doubtful about Kafka, and he must prove his worth in the next mission.

Kafka and the First Division are soon dispatched when a massive horde of ant-like kaijuu begins wreaking havoc. Thanks to the combined strength of Kafka's friend Kikoru Shinomiya and their captain, Gen Narumi, the mission seems to progress as it should. However, when Kafka fails to transform into his kaijuu form, the dreadful Kaijuu No. 9 joins the battle with only one goal—to eliminate him and steal his power. Although the situation is looking grim, Kafka must overcome his most difficult trial yet with the others if he wants to keep pursuing his dream: fighting side by side with his childhood friend and Third Division captain, Mina Ashiro.

Another fantastic and very enjoyable season - the stakes felt very high this season and the animation imo was just as good as the previous season - loved the unique designs of the new Kaijus and the Kaijus in general - kikaru was a huge standout this season and I’ve absolutely loved how far her development has grown compared to the start - the bond between the divisions and how they all interact with each other is great and obviously the fighting this season was incredible - fuming at the way they ended the season but has left me crazy amped for season 3 - ... this reminded me of season 2 of invincible in the sense that it was used as a build up for a crazier season and I believe season 2 set the foundation perfectly for season 3 to go insane

Mixed Feelings

Season Overview

A number of episodes this season failed to progress the story effectively. The story and character development felt largely underwhelming despite having a couple strong moments initiating intrigue then immediately failing to deliver. The season finale pretty much captures the lack of payoff for the audience.

The pacing of the story should have been adjusted to effectively convey the story constrained in 11 episodes. At the 11th episode you’ll be left wondering if “that’s it”.

Animation

The animation quality is relatively the same as the previous season — no complaints there.

... Character Relationship

The relationship between Kafka and his childhood friend still is quite confusing. There isn’t enough depth for the audience to really care about his motivations as it relates to being by her side.

The character development around the Director’s family had the most depth. More time could have been spent understanding his inner monologue in contrast to his hardened exterior.

Watching this season doesn’t add much more to the story. Would only recommend if the next season delivers.

Season 1 was better, you cant have your fight seens look like a slideshow it feels similar to blue lock season 2 having good lighting but bad animation season 1 is very good but 2 is just a yapfest bro I could of watched this while on IG reels and youtube shorts and I would still be bored

Also it still has the problem where you can predict everything thats gonna happen Parasyte wayy better watch parasyte instead also the mc kinda a bum bro hes selling and letting everyone get pieced up for the most stupid reasons like are you so afraid to fight your ... just gonna let people die thats insane why did he even get powers bro hes a bum
