| Damn, Kira was quite confident in his powers to tell Shiguchi so much about himself. Killer Queen is a really scary stand (and a stylish one, love the reference to Queen's song here). Although I guess the button will eventually lead Josuke and others to Kira. Shiguchi's death gave me Akira vibes, tbh. |
| He might've been a crazy greedy bastard when it comes to money, but in the end, Shigechi died too soon. He wasn't just an asshole; he was our asshole... A selfish guy like him only wanting to notify his friends about Kira and keep his family safe dying a death like that was just too much for me. I actually teared up to this again... |

| Alright, I said Rohan gave me some Patrick Bateman vibes but having Kira give his whole routine through a monologue means he just took the title! He said it how it is, he just wants a calm and tranquil life, he lives by the book, he's respectable outside of his passion for serial killing. And to preserve the quiet life, he will kill anyone who gets in the way. It does make you think about why he kills women however, one would easily see that as a contradiction in his philosophy. There is a level of intimacy in the act too. Kira could easily get women to date him, yet he's a loner from how it seems and he chooses to kill women and play them in his head instead. It is also inviting a routine and comfortable life into ruin, his quiet life would be far less unstable if he didn't feel a need to pursue his murderous tendencies. He's full of fascinating contradictions regarding tranquility and intimacy. Although, I suppose if he wants his life to be predictable and controlled, he wouldn't want to date anyone and therefore the intimacy from the controlled and made-up women could be the way he keeps himself content. It also sounded as though Kira had the stand long before the bow and arrow made its way into Morioh. He is the ultimate example of a stand user blending into society and using their power to benefit themselves without drawing attention which fits his philosophy. Further, even though he may be as ruthless as Dio, willing to kill or threaten anyone to get his way, there are distinct differences in their ambitions. Dio did so while clawing his way up as high as he could go, but Kira wants to keep the status quo in check. I wonder if Kira and Koichi will lay traps against each other at one point. Either way, he is not the only focus here, our boy Shigechi got the spotlight. It's always charming to give relatively unimportant characters a chance to be a hero. He was more of a child than even our teenage protagonist, and Kira slaughtered him without a second thought, however Shigechi did not make it easy. He used a smoke screen, he escaped, and he even stole one of Kira's buttons to give Josuke a clue. Our boy wanted to protect his beloved ma and pa he mentioned when he was first introduced and he has been instrumental in starting a trail to catch Kira. Righteous, like Kakyoin may have died only sending a small signal to Joseph, that drop in the ocean will create a freaking tsunami my little brother. |
