I started watching anime as a kid, with precious shoujo like Sailor Moon and CC Sakura and, with my brother, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho. But I personally consider my 'anime journey' to have started in middle school, when a friend showed me Ouran High School Host Club. That's when I dug deep into reverse harem and started developing my own 'taste', which has of course changed since then.
I generally don't have the patience to pick up huge series (*ahem* One Piece), though I enjoy anime shows more than movies since there's more room for world building and character development. Gems like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are exceptions though and will always hold a special place in my heart <3
Over the last years though I've learned to be more patient and appreciate longer shows. I owe FMA: Brotherhood for that (yes, I know it's not even that long, but I'm kinda proud of myself for making that change!).
I'm not an avid watcher of seasonal anime. I occasionally watch a few but at the moment I'm more focused on catching up with classics (90s/2000s/2010s).
My watching style is rather picking up something I've wrapped my head around for a few days and then watching it through, beginning to end. That way I feel I'm more involved in the story.
Feel free to browse and drop me a rec if you feel like it :D
