Just your standard anime enthusiast. Right now studying Physics at university. Big fan of sports/gym mainly football (not the US nonsence btw) and NBA, as well as FromSoftware and CD Projekt Red games. Also been getting into reading through Stormlight Archives/Mistborn Series. I accept any request so don't hold back.
I might be a bit too harsh on some series and overall, but I put a lot of effort to be consistent comparing each show with the others and also leaving some opinions on what I thought of the series.
The rated aspects and rating I normally use is as follows:
- Animation / Action Sequences
- Plot & Development / Genre & Type of show
- Personal enjoyment / Creativity
- World building / Character development
- Time it was made / Series improvement

- 10/10 shows are a MUST watch but a bit PERSONAL biased.

- 2/10 & 1/10 probably my journey through the WORST rated shows on MAL.

Favourite Animes
My taste in anime varies a lot, since I enjoy shows that I don't really think are objectively good, and enjoy shows that I might not have liked based on the genre, due to being really good.
Despite that I tend to like more complex and chracters/world driven shows with action and powerful stories.
Not really a Shounen, Isekai or Romance guy in anime, but a bit of each can really make a show great in my opinion.
Favourite Mangas
As far as my tastes in manga goes, there are two clear favourites:
The first being romance and Shoujo stories.
The second are the harsher and grittier shows especially dark fantasies.
Favourite Characters
Characters are sometimes the main drive for me to watch or stick with a show.
Therefore, don't be surprised if you find characters from shows I didn't rate too high since I like the characters not always the show they are in.
I tend to like mainly flawed, funny and witted characters that always make the scenes they are in better.

I really enjoyed The Witcher 3, so hearing that the books are even better definitely makes me want to read them. I also didn't know the games were more like a continuation than a straight adaptation—that actually sounds pretty cool.
Mistborn has been on my radar for a while too. 😂 It seems like almost everyone who's into fantasy recommends it as one of the best places to start, so it's probably between that and The Witcher for me once I have a little more free time after graduation.

And Kaiba is a great choice! 😄 I think the art style scares a lot of people away, but once you get into it, it's such a unique experience. Plus, being shorter definitely helps when you're already buried under seasonal shows. 😭
And wow, you're deep into fantasy right now. I've actually heard amazing things about Stormlight Archive and Mistborn, though I haven't had the time to dive into them yet. Robin Hobb and Joe Abercrombie are names I hear all the time too. I've mostly been reading manga lately, but I definitely want to branch out more after graduation.
Hope you enjoy Kaiba whenever you get around to it! And if you ever get around to Shamo, definitely make sure you're in the mood for something really dark. 😂
By the way, how are you liking the Witcher books? I've only experienced the games and the Netflix series, so I'm curious how they compare.
And wow, we really do have similar tastes! I've heard great things about both Baccano! and Fate/Zero, but somehow I still haven't gotten around to either. Kino no Tabi ('03) is one I've always meant to watch too, so I'll definitely keep your recommendation in mind. I love unique series that stick with you after you're done.
As for recommendations, hmm... since you mentioned dark magical girl shows, have you seen Princess Tutu? I feel like a lot of people write it off because of the name, but it does some really interesting things with fairy tales and storytelling. Kaiba is another one I love that I don't see discussed nearly enough. And if you're okay with manga, Shamo is one of the most fascinating (and darkest) things I've read.

Washio Sumi no Shou will be great, I think you'll like so much too.
Karin's 4 Mankais is impressive, probably the best scene of first season tied with Fuu listened "Inori no Uta", by Itsuki, so beautiful music and melody, and a bit emotional cuz the younger girl lost her voice in result of hero power.

Anyways, what's your feelings about the entire S1, I saw that you finished.
All the themes Yuuki Yuuna has a dialogue are so rich of details and very well explored.
You said the cast is the strongest point, what's your favorite character? For me, not only for the anime, but the overall series, it's Yuuna Yuuki-chan, she's magnificent, especially in the other seasons.
What's your feeling about the beginning of the series??

Violet Evergarden has a special part of my heart, 2023 was a very tough year for me, and I rewatched the series and watched the movie for the first time, I've cried so much (I'm difficult to cry lmao), and yeah, I understand the argument about Major but I still love that film.
Akatsuki no Yona seems nice, I'm trying to comeback to watch anime, in pandemic I was addicted with the industry, but in the last 2 years I've barely seen whatever.
