That's great news!! Less screen time is a good time in my book. I try to get my partner and I to spend more time together without any kind of screen time (tv, phones or computers) but it's haaaard. He's definitely addicted to his phone

I totally understand you liking an optimistic ending more! I just think that Evangelion, being set in a "Crapsack world" (as TVTropes would define it lol) with a deeply psychologically wounded cast, is doomed to have a darker ending, and in my eyes,
is as happy as you can get narratively, I think.
Which is why Sonny Boy, Welcome to N.H.K. (and maybe Tatami Galaxy) are my favourites in that regard :)

As for how I found your profile... I think I was browsing interest stacks that day and somehow stumbled upon it. Can't remember for sure, sorry :P
