| The showdown has commenced, and although it's brief, Senku has managed to ensure the complete safety of the human race and its civilisation for millennia to come. I am so honoured to have witnessed both the ending of the manga and the anime. They've adapted the final 2 chapters into this final episode excellently! Though humanity may have been set back thousands of years due to the petrification event 3700+ years ago, and though humanity's intelligence does not meet the medusae's expectation, fear not, for humanity will prevail! All but 1 Medusa has finally left Earth to their own devices. Humanity is saved, and the heroes from this Moon expedition crew have landed safely back on Earth, where they're rightfully greeted with the warmest welcome before they're publicly awarded for their GRAND ACCOMPLISMENT. It's great to see the timeskip where the civilisation that Senku has brought up around the world puts scientific endeavour as the first and foremost priority! No more time and effort wasted on political bickering or meaningless bloodshed, only and solely for the betterment of life through technology. And if there comes a time when problems arise, rest assured, for Senku's gang, the members of the Science Kingdom could exert their full expertise in finding a solution, the logical way! Collaboration is at an all-time high with humanity's re-focused goals and ambition, and ofc, my boy, nay, my Man Gen, really helped at doing that, being the diplomat for the Science Kingdom. Now I stood up and applauded Taiju's and Yuzuriha's successful marriage; the couple has managed to hit it off, all the way to being married. Hell yeah, they both looked adorable, completely deserved. Their relationship has been cock-blocked for literally thousands of years, but that has come to an end... The only thing that has yet to end is Humanity's continuous advancement into the future... Dr. Senku, the leading scientist with minds beyond reality, standing at the pinnacle of authority, power, admiration and knowledge, stood mightily beside a highly advanced live parasitic medusa. And of course, the absolute most mind-boggling cutting-edge project any human has ever set on. A fucking time machine. It took the full collaboration of human civilisation from all around the world several years to build, test, and actually fly a multi-staged rocket to the moon, so it's only right for even Senku to expect the time machine to be operational within decades, centuries and even millennia from now. This is the perfect joyous ending that Dr.Stone deserves. The series started with an abrupt calamity that plagued the world, and the series ended with the resolution of this calamity, the departure of the parasitic medusa race. When a human faces a seemingly impossible challenge, with our wits and a period of time, we can overcome the most indomitable of obstacles, one step at a time. From primitive antibiotics to the supremely complex time machine. One step at a time, together, Senku, his friends, the world and all of mankind will reach the goal. Therefore... GET EXCITED!!!  I don't remember there being that bit where history regarded Senku as DR.STONE in the post-credit scene, but that name is rightfully his for all his achievements. |

| And that is the end of this fabulous series! Senku and Why-Man managed to come to an understanding, and it was a plus that a little Why-Man-chan decided to break away from the cluster and join Earth's humanity's side. Why-Man's whole identity reveal honestly felt rushed and haphazard, so it was hard to be fully invested in the developments, but the second half with the post-time skip scenes delivered! Ah, but before that, Kohaku-chan barely awake for the prize awarding ceremony felt perfect for her character, so I just wanted to just throw that in xD. Teasing Ruri nee-chan and, in turn, giving us that perfect update on the Ruri-Chrome relationship. Building a time machine though, hopefully that won't take a lifetime, because Ruri nee will just remain a widow lol. Yuzuriha-Taiju finally sailed! Senku's so happy for his mate that they did a complete deja vu back-to-back, lmao. Ryuusui doing Ryuusui things and Tsukasa as intelligence officer (pretty much) fit perfectly. Senku being regarded as Dr. Stone is icing on the cake! It's been such a wild 7-year ride! A lot of these long-running series end up on a sour note, and while I wouldn't say this landed the backflip perfectly, I still thought it was a fair ending. It's been consistent since the start barring this final dip in the end. |

| Episode dropped earlier and wow, expected to get emotional and I knew they would play Ohayo Sekai at the end, but this exceeded my expectations. It's been exhilarating 7 years with this fantastic sci-fi adventure. Captivating premise, lots of creativity, loveable characters, emotional highs, pay off, this was a Jump series which offered the full experience. One of the stand out titles from the last decade and it will hopefully be remembered 8,5/10 for the whole series  |

| THEY PLAYED OHAYO SEKAI!!!!! I couldn’t be happier that they actually did it. It feels like we’ve been losing that tradition older shounen series used to have, with so many recent ones ending without bringing back classic openings or callbacks like that. Seeing it happen here put such a huge smile on my face. I won’t sit here and pretend I fully loved this season. It’s probably the weakest one overall, but when all is said and done, these last couple of episodes were a great way to end the series. I still believe nothing after Season 1 ever quite reached that same peak, but that doesn’t mean everything that came after was bad. It’s honestly surreal to think it’s finally over. This is one of the few series I’ve been following since the very beginning, so it’s sad to see it come to an end. That said, I have a feeling those two extra chapters will get adapted someday, and if that happens, you can bet I’ll GET EXCITED THEN. |

| Well, this was... kinda anticlimactic. After everything, apparently in ten years' time, after such a great bighuge build-up and all, we get all of maybe two-minutes with the aliens, during which Senkuu somehow silently convinces them to leave, with only one staying behind. And then they're back on earth just like that, and they're throwing a party. Rinse and repeat a "few years later". Yeah, they plucked on the heartstrings well enough, if you aren't teary eyed after all these years, together with Gen, idek, and the idea of a time machine - who else if not these guys, after everything they've been through, but... This could've been two episodes, heck the entire epilogue could've been left off entirely (everyone having that flair from their stone world attires while wearing normal clothes again is hilarious) - either way, I'm sure we want to see that story. I think the overall pacing kinda took the wind out of the sails here. |

You tease a villain for half a decade and wrap it up in a couple chapters… it might go down better with anime onlies, but this just reminded me how annoyed I was when the manga ended. Like, the concept of Senku’s question being so stupid that why man genuinely got scared off, this is the most anticlimactic ending to a story ever. I guess in a sense, narratively you could argue Why Man’s inability to understand humans could never be changed so they got scared off because they can’t understand us makes sense.. you could also argue it’s a nice twist of dramatic irony that the smartest man on earth is considered dumb by aliens because he doesn’t conform to their way of thinking. Either way, the why man hivemind were incredibly arrogant to think humanity would just do whatever they wanted with no regard for our own wishes. It kinda felt like they expanded on some of the timeskip stuff? It was nice to see Taiju and Yuzuriha married finally and the world coming back together, good to see they’ve revived some baddies for Senku lab too.. but idk this felt very rushed just like the manga. Jury’s still out on the Time Machine plot point, but if you’re gonna set something up like this, you have to at least show us the results in an OVA or spinoff, SOMETHING man. Just feels like the author was rushing down the stretch here and wanted to wrap things up quickly. For all my complaints about the ending, I did finish this episode with a smile and tears because they brought Good Morning World back which basically defined summer 2019 for me along with Ms. Green Apple’s inferno. Reminded me how much life has changed in these 7 years. They did it! They said the name of the thing inside of the thing! Love a good title drop and it’s nice to know that Senku’s legacy persists into the future. That’s officially a wrap on Dr. Stone, wasn’t perfect, but it’s a journey I’ll always be grateful for. |

| what an absolute joke of a final episode that was...Why-Man confrontation was rushed, no reveal as to why they did what they did or an explanation for it. The time machine project was just brought in with no real motivation or justification for it... complete rush fest Having read the final chapters from the end of last week's episode up till the end, they skipped a lot of decent details and setting up the ultimate message about the meaning of science and excitement of discovery. While it is a blessing to see a series get a full adaptation in this day and age...this just feels like a betrayal. |

| Senku's confrontation with Why Man was so close to ending with another petrification wave "gift". But while the majority of the machine parasites weren't moved one millimeter by Senku's request, at least one of them thought it exhilarating enough to stay with humanity. Now humanity's back in full force and the world of Dr. Stone can continue to progress forward. It's so sweet seeing everyone living their best lives and accomplishing so much for themselves and the planet. Taiju and Yuzuriha specifically having an extended length wedding on account for how busy their friends are was fantastic to see. That time machine goal is wild. But knowing the Kingdom of Science, they undoubtedly can get it made. This was a total blast to watch. I'm glad that Dr. Stone was completely adapted, it was an excellent watch with a phenomenal dub. |

| All this buildup for such a disappointing resolution. Why-man waited 3,700 years for absolutely nothing, only to abandon humanity and leave to find a more advanced civilization? Suddenly, they don't even need to replace their inner mechanical cores anymore and are totally fine? Meaning their lifespan is long enough to wander the universe for thousands of years without trouble? Then why activate the petrification beams to begin with, especially since doing so actually shortens the Why-men's own lifespan? It makes no sense. Instead of wasting their own energy and lives on a blind attack, why didn't they just fly directly to Earth and negotiate with human leaders or scientists from the get-go? Why stay on the moon? They can clearly travel vast distances across space with ease, and they can clearly speak human languages. They claimed humans had low intelligence because it took 3,700 years to naturally break free from the petrification. If that's the case, why did they waste so much time waiting on the moon? By the year 1000, they should have already abandoned Earth to look for a new species in outer space. What a waste of time. It's a terrible, irrational, and nonsensical ending—a typical shonen flop. |

| So that's it, that's the ending. It feels incomplete but I guess that's what Science really is. I really can't believe that we're bidding farewell to this amazing anime after 7 freaking years. Thank you, Riichiro and Boichi sensei and all the staff who worked behind this masterpiece. Dr. Stone will continue to live rent free in our hearts and mind and exhilarate and inspire us for years to come. |

Because I'm pretty sure if Senku and the others fought them in space, they'd lose catastrophically, and Earth would be in a terrible position. But at least one of them came with them. Better than nothing, I suppose. So, this series chronologically took place over the course of 10 years, huh. That's really something. And after the timeskip, a few years passed. But how many years? Anyway, everything seems so advanced. But all the people look pretty much the same and are wearing the same clothes even lol. So glad Taiju and Yuzuriha are finally married! That has been teased ever since the very beginning. Even Chrome nonchalantly proposed to Ruri lol. As for Senku, I guess we'll never know. Tho I always thought out of all the female characters, he had the best chemistry with the lioness Kohaku. Also, that scientist woman with Senku's hair was weird. I thought he made a genderbend drug or something. The final invention is... a freaking time machine?! The last 2 episodes have been crazy. I thought they'd go back in time to prevent the petrification from ever happening or something. After everything that happened, that would've been a very disappointing ending. But we didn't really get to see them finish it, so... What did the "The end and to be continued..." even mean? Was it talking about the post-credits scene, or is there gonna be a sequel? Man... I've been watching Dr. STONE weekly since episode 1 of the first season. It might be the only shonen anime I watched weekly from start to finish. It has been an experience, to say the least. The "Good morning, world" as the ED really hit hard. Even though I love it, Dr. STONE is incredibly flawed. After the 2nd season, the pacing becomes way faster. And in the final season, the pacing is just off the rails. But when the show hits, it hits. So, imagine how great this series could've been if it didn't have such pacing problems. What if every invention had the same attention it did in early seasons? I'm not saying every single invention could or should have the same time and attention cause that might not be feasible. But I remember when Perseus was first finished, how underwhelming it felt cause it happened in just a few episodes iirc. Imagine how great it would've been if more characters were fleshed out. Most characters in this show are more like plot devices than actual characters. After their introduction, they literally have 0 character arcs. And those damn vocal ticks every character seems to have. I don't understand why every single character needs to have one. It gets annoying hearing them after a while. And I think these things really held this series back. If the author decided to really flesh out everything, this series probably wouldn't be over anytime soon. And I'd be totally fine with it. Dr. STONE in this state was still fun enough, so if those criticisms were addressed, it would've hooked me even more. But I guess if it did keep continuing like this, it probably could've been axed. Despite the flaws, I still love Dr. STONE. And I'd love to binge the whole series from start to finish one day. I'm really gonna miss this show. |

| Hehe, yep—nine years after the manga began, Senku and his friends' journey is officially coming to an end in anime form as well. Those who followed Senku’s journey from the start (the thread for the first manga chapter opened on March 2, 2017) were able to witness this evolution almost in sync with the in-universe timeline, since ten years have passed in the story too—aside from the periods spent petrified. A lot of people say the ending felt a bit rushed. After spending nearly a full *cour* just to create a single medicine or a vehicle, the journey to the moon moved relatively quickly. Still, it illustrates quite well how scientific progress moves exponentially. It took humanity 300,000 years to discover electronics. From that point on, things moved fast—from the cathode-ray tube to the transistor, and eventually the microchip. When you consider how rapidly the internet or AI alone has evolved in just the last two years, things we once wouldn't have dared to imagine are suddenly within reach. Even though I don't think we’ll ever achieve time travel, it’s still a great concept for a finale. It shows that we don't just stop at the here and now; science keeps evolving, making things possible that were once impossible. deg said: The aliens operate with a mindset of pure efficiency. For them, only bare survival matters. They don't care about human social interaction or scientific research—to them, those are base instincts that are entirely optional. Humanity wasn't exactly "brought back to the current state of technology," as Senku had announced in Episode 1—we still see wooden houses and clunky or pixelated devices—but for Senku, pragmatism famously trumps aesthetics. Why go to the trouble of building modern houses or roads when wooden ones serve his research just as well? The fact that the laboratory is the only place restored to pre-petrification standards speaks volumes. However, if you think about it a bit longer, it is actually a rather sad ending. Senku was unable to fulfill his promise from Episode 1 to save all 7 billion people. Stone statues remain missing, and it could take decades or even centuries for technology to fully return to 2017 (or 2019, in the anime adaptation) levels. Resources are also insufficient to provide for everyone. Furthermore, the revived people continue to age normally; someone whose statue is found only after decades might wake up to discover that everyone around them has already died of old age. Senku's only way to truly keep his promise is—and remains—the time machine; that is why he invests all his time and resources into it while largely ignoring everything else around him. There is still a 27th volume that serves as an epilogue. It wouldn't be enough for another full season, but it could certainly work as a TV special (like the *Ryusui* film) or a theatrical movie. | Certainly not the worst ending ever, but as an anime only (for now) the fact that I felt kinda like how I did after reading Tokyo Revengers was enough to tell me that things were being tied off quickly, conveniently and rather abruptly. Felt a bit lacking in depth and worst of all, I am disappointed that my Senku x Kohaku ship never sailed. Overall though? Definitely one of my most enjoyed series over the last 10 years. |

Senku and Why-Man managed to come to an understanding, and it was a plus that a little Why-Man-chan decided to break away from the cluster and join Earth's humanity's side. Why-Man's whole identity reveal honestly felt rushed and haphazard, so it was hard to be fully invested in the developments, but the second half with the post-time skip scenes delivered! Ah, but before that, Kohaku-chan barely awake for the prize awarding ceremony felt perfect for her character, so I just wanted to just throw that in xD.
Teasing Ruri nee-chan and, in turn, giving us that perfect update on the Ruri-Chrome relationship. Building a time machine though, hopefully that won't take a lifetime, because Ruri nee will just remain a widow lol. Yuzuriha-Taiju finally sailed! Senku's so happy for his mate that they did a complete deja vu back-to-back, lmao. Ryuusui doing Ryuusui things and Tsukasa as intelligence officer (pretty much) fit perfectly. Senku being regarded as Dr. Stone is icing on the cake!
It's been such a wild 7-year ride! A lot of these long-running series end up on a sour note, and while I wouldn't say this landed the backflip perfectly, I still thought it was a fair ending. It's been consistent since the start barring this final dip in the end.

| "Ishigami Senku. The scientist who rebuilt civilization from scratch in the Stone World." I truly cannot emphasize how proud I feel of this man and all the driving forces behind it. Dr Stone, a fun shonen anime or that's what I thought when I first watched this and thus stepped foot into the anime world. But with each season, with each adventure I realised that it is one of the most goated animes of all time. The character developments, the story buildup, the bond and all finally leading up to the cause, the mystery- WHY MAN. Dare I say this was one the best ways to actually conclude the anime because it absolutely made sense. (I cried hearing the very first OP at the end😭 OHAYO SEKAI GOOD MORNING WORLDD) The love I have for this anime.. I don't think I'll be able to let go of this attachment any time soon. Dr. Stone, my very first anime, you were great. YOU'LL BE MISSED SO MUCH. THANK YOU.   |
| Even if the ending was a bit rushed which I can agree on, I still think the show as a whole has been really good. The ending was not even close to bad enough to ruin anything about the whole show. I think some people here are a little overdramatic. |

And after 7 years that’s all it.. went down just like the manga, but man I was hoping for some anime original stuff because manga readers were pretty let down with how rushed the ending was. You tease a villain for half a decade and wrap it up in a couple chapters… it might go down better with anime onlies, but this just reminded me how annoyed I was when the manga ended.
Like, the concept of Senku’s question being so stupid that why man genuinely got scared off, this is the most anticlimactic ending to a story ever. I guess in a sense, narratively you could argue Why Man’s inability to understand humans could never be changed so they got scared off because they can’t understand us makes sense.. you could also argue it’s a nice twist of dramatic irony that the smartest man on earth is considered dumb by aliens because he doesn’t conform to their way of thinking. Either way, the why man hivemind were incredibly arrogant to think humanity would just do whatever they wanted with no regard for our own wishes.
It kinda felt like they expanded on some of the timeskip stuff? It was nice to see Taiju and Yuzuriha married finally and the world coming back together, good to see they’ve revived some baddies for Senku lab too.. but idk this felt very rushed just like the manga.
Jury’s still out on the Time Machine plot point, but if you’re gonna set something up like this, you have to at least show us the results in an OVA or spinoff, SOMETHING man. Just feels like the author was rushing down the stretch here and wanted to wrap things up quickly.
For all my complaints about the ending, I did finish this episode with a smile and tears because they brought Good Morning World back which basically defined summer 2019 for me along with Ms. Green Apple’s inferno. Reminded me how much life has changed in these 7 years.
They did it! They said the name of the thing inside of the thing! Love a good title drop and it’s nice to know that Senku’s legacy persists into the future. That’s officially a wrap on Dr. Stone, wasn’t perfect, but it’s a journey I’ll always be grateful for.
