| Shimamura kissing Adachi's hand. I bet Adachi loved that and it made her melt. Shimamura was pretty sexy during those pages. So Shimamura kinda regretting calling out to Tarumi back in that station. Is Tarumi in love with Shimamura too or is she just possessive when it comes to Shimamura too like how Adachi is? And she wanted to know about Adachi. First time Shimamura made a friend cry. Tarumi feeling like she lost to Adachi. And the way this chapter went, this might be the last time we see Tarumi appear in the manga. And the last time Shimamura and Tarumi ever hang out together. They were close friends when they were children, but now, it feels like their relationship can't be like how it was back then. They can't really have proper conversations with each other. It's all small talk. They have nothing to talk about. Tarumi just wanted to be close friends with Shimamura again, but it's not happening. I assume they were best friends when they were kids. If so, she just wanted to bring that back and be best friends with Shimamura again, like the good ol' days. Shimamura seeing Tarumi as just a friend was not enough for Tarumi. She wants Shimamura to consider Tarumi as her best friend and closest friend. But I guess Adachi stops that probably because Tarumi wanted to be the girl that's closest to Shimamura, but Adachi is closer to Shimamura and that upsets Tarumi. Tarumi wanted to be the one to take Shimamura far, far away, whatever that means. And Tarumi crying while saying she hopes that they stay friends forever. She's probably crying either because 1) She wanted Shimamura to consider Tarumi as her closest friend, which Shimamura doesn't, and so Tarumi and Shimamura can only be just friends and that's it, or 2) Because the chances of even staying friends with Shimamura was slim to none to Tarumi, and so she cries because she knows the friendship is basically over, and that she'll never be Shimamura's closest friend, and that maybe bumping into Shimamura after all these years apart from each other and her plans of being friends with Shimamura again was all for nothing. So all the hanging out they did was for nothing and ended up being a waste of time. And so Tarumi might as well have not swapped numbers with Shimamura. And then there's the fact when Shimamura called out to Tarumi in the station when Shimamura remembered the nickname she gave Tarumi as a little girl, which got Tarumi's hopes up that maybe they'd end up as close friends again, and Tarumi remembering that moment probably is another reason why she ended up crying, because of Shimamura getting Tarumi's hopes up and exciting her and made Tarumi really happy and it meant the world to her in that moment and has been excited about the possibility of becoming close friends ever since, just for it to be somewhat of a lie. So basically, Tarumi crying because Shimamura lied to her. Or 3) When Shimamura said that Adachi is always bringing Shimamura to faraway places she've never been, and Tarumi upon hearing Shimamura say that, it really got to her. Like her heart broke and so the tears were coming. Maybe because that's the moment she realised that Adachi is much closer to Shimamura than Tarumi. And then Tarumi then saying that she wanted to be the one to take Shimamura far, far away, which basically explains Tarumi's tears. So 3) is the most likely reason. And again, Shimamura got Tarumi's hopes up at the station, so that's another factor. And then when hanging out the next time, Tarumi tells Shimamura "let's be friends again", which Shimamura agreed to, which also made Tarumi really happy to hear. I sorta feel for Tarumi. She just wanted to be Shimamura's closest friend again. And she seems like a nice girl. And she's known Shimamura longer than Adachi. And so now, she can't be Shimamura's closest friend like she once was because now Adachi is closest to Shimamura. Funny thing is it's good news for Adachi that Shimamura won't be hanging out with Tarumi as Adachi hated it when Shimamura and Tarumi hung out. So right now, Tarumi is Shimamura's former closest friend. And she has to give up on the idea of becoming Shimamura's closest friend like the old days. And she tried so hard when they were hanging out. Forcing a fun time together. Forcing a smile while flipping the okonomiyaki instead of just acting natural. Hoping Shimamura is also having fun with her. Then in this chapter, we see Tarumi doing stuff like giving Shimamura a scarf so she can keep warm in the cold weather, which is Tarumi showing how much of a nice friend she is. I guess Tarumi was a little desperate. To Shimamura, Tarumi being her closest friend is all in the past. And Adachi is just so much more interesting to Shimamura than Tarumi and Shimamura finds it more fun hanging out with Adachi. |
