The music in the scene where the man is struggling against the urge to kill Vash was hauntingly beautiful. Can't wait for the OST release
@YoseiEgg

Yep. Tragedy all round.

Very good premiere but man, new OP is such a downgrade compared to the one from previous season.

Been a while, but we’re back, and we’re slowly circling back to where it all started. Milly Thompson is finally in the crew now, and Vash’s bounty is back to the number we’re all used to, so yeah, we’re almost there. Milly is Meryl’s colleague, if that wasn’t obvious.

Something something plant robberies happening, and honestly there’s really only one person that could be behind it, Million Knives. But when we see him at the end of the episode, he’s not looking great, which makes sense after what Vash did to him in space last time. Then a new girl shows up at the end and she.. knows Vash?? :o

Nice return overall, the mysteries are already building up again like last season. Really excited to see Vash though.
@IzanaSolos Wasn't Vash the one who was catatonic in the house of the big-armed creature?

When the OP began to play, dawned on me, maybe I should had rewatched the first season.

I really love Meryl new outfit. And Milly without that huge coat is the way to go.

Vash really looking like blonde Eren. You could say he may want to Rumble.
@BlichoBoy I thought exactly the same thing about Vash, that he looked like Eren haha

It seems I'm the only one who liked the opening song by ano. I couldn't quite explain it in words, but I love it when they throw in a fun song during a depressing arc, I guess it's because of the contrast. I also really liked the opening song by ano in Takopii no Genzai for the same reason.

Call me a sadist.

Interesting takes on things from the manga, many of which didn't appear in the anime. I clapped.

@Deiki-kun yes, it was Vash. They repeatedly showed his arm and everything

I think everyone thought it was Knives at the piano to end season 1, but apparently it was not

This is basically an entirely different series than the original one decades ago. And I'll just take it as that.

Is this girl that crashed at the end in the manga? A simple yes or no will do. I'm not asking for spoilers

Definitely assumed that was Knives at the piano at the end of season 1. Surprised to see it was Vash

I just want to enjoy this. I'm not expecting it to be the greatest show ever. Nor am I hoping it somehow matches or exceeds my joy of watching the original series. I only need to feel content. I'm optimistic

I barely remember original Trigun, and yeah it's been three years since we had that first season, so I mean.. they should've recapped a bit more lol.

They ended on a pretty tragic note last time, which feels even more of a tragedy when you see what exactly happened with Vash. I'm kinda looking forward to see how they're planning to deal with all of that first season stuff and add those orginal bits every now and then. For now, pretty standard start.

That OP tho.. they could've done better:(

I feel that the CG has improved a lot from Season 1. Milly is so funny . Meryl got the right partner. Seeing Vash being a vegetable is so sad. Who's that guy who's tending to Vash ?

*looks at the summary of the season* Did that say... "conclusion"??? Oh, no, my faith in the reboot has dropped a bit. I don't think 12 more episodes are going to be adequate, but I'm going to watch regardless and hope for the best. I was hoping for more than just two 12 episode seasons since this reboot is hewing closer to the manga than the nearly 30-year-old anime did.
This opening episode finds us with Milly Thompson and Meryl being rudely interrupted while attempting to enjoy a sweet treat (the ending of season 1 said Milly was a new hire who would be pairing up with Meryl), and the story picks up with the familiar Eriks plot, with a couple of new twists. Vash is now wanted for 60 billion double dollars because of the destruction caused by the conclusion of the first season, and he is missing. Meryl and Milly have been combing the planet for any trace of him, chasing any leads they can find, to no avail. The original anime had a very similar plot arc, as does the manga, so Trigun veterans won't be too surprised when the POV shifts from our favorite reporters to an isolated homestead.
The episode felt pretty solid to me, but I do hope the studio was able to pace a story out across 12 episodes without things feeling rushed. I guess we'll just have to wait 11 more weeks to see how it turns out.

Milly! Yaaay! It's been so long I kinda forgot what happened at the end of season one, but I'm excited to see how this plays out. Beautiful CG and music.

I can't put my finger on why, but there's something really annoying about just putting Milly in this show as if she were always a part of the cast; she doesn't feel organic anymore, like she's there as a mascot and not a person (like every other character).

It's also strange writing that these characters, ordinary news reporters, are talking about the politics and motivations of magical space entities. It was handled way better in the original where humans basically kept to human affairs and weren't just like "yeah, that's a magical space alien, he believes this, does this, does that."

Okay interesting come back and it starts directly with a time skip, pretty good to see Milly and Meryl but seeing Vash in this state is just sad, wonder what will happen next... that pod girl is mysterious.
