| The character development Thorfinn has gone through is amazing. Seeing where he started in season 1 compared to where he is now almost feels like watching a completely different person. His decision to reject violence and take an oath against hurting others is a huge moment for his character. It feels like he's finally confronting the guilt and trauma he's been carrying around for years instead of just running from it. That said, I have a hard time believing it'll be that simple. This is Vinland Saga, and the world isn't exactly known for respecting people's peaceful ideals. I'd love to see Thorfinn keep his oath for the rest of the series, but I have a feeling reality is going to test him sooner or later. It's one thing to make a promise when you've found a new purpose in life. It's another thing to keep that promise when the people you care about are in danger. I'm very curious to see how long he can stick to it. |
