| I'm rewatching the anime to catch up on the new seasons, and I didn't know about this OVA. It takes place between episodes 11 and 12. It's a fun and lighthearted one, where Subaru creates a Snow Festival. Interestingly, the episode contrasts with the following episodes, 12 and 13, which reverses the friendly atmosphere of this episode. |

| Took me a little bit but I finally checked out this first Re:Zero movie, and it really was just pure SoL goodness, it was a nice reward after making it through the first season, even if chronologically this takes place before Arc 3. And I think the characters of Re:Zero are really great overall so I was really down to see them in a chill setting, and it turned out to be a really good time, the cold from Puck’s “manastruation” may have initially been a bad thing because it postponed Subaru’s date with Emilia, but Subaru turned it around with the snow festival idea, and loads of fun with everyone was had because of it, even if that statue of Subaru and Roswaal fused together was kinda cursed lol, it was cool looking tho. And I mainly wanna comment on the character moments for Rem and Emilia, there was plenty to enjoy if you’re a fan of one waifu or the other, or both, like I kinda fell out of love for Emilia since she was absent for most of Cour 2 but seeing her being cute as a button in this movie brought her back around for me, I’d say Rem is still the better character but Emilia’s cuteness really shined here, it was a good dose of EMT for the soul lol. As for Rem, she was really fun, I love that she was pretty much a caricature of her usual self in the main show, like we know she’s down bad for Subaru at this point but she was being wowed by everything Subaru came up with and was openly being sus about watching him sleep at night, very good stuff. And of course there was Rem and Emilia being drunk, that was an absolute treat (I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a gif of Emilia rubbing up against Rem before lol), the VAs really sold it, I loved the triple “Subaru-kun” from Rem lol. There was also Ram who had some really good bits, I enjoyed her being grumpy from the cold and constantly jabbing at Subaru (although I’m curious what exactly she does with Roswaal lol). And Beatrice had some nice focus here too, she didn’t show it all that much but I’m glad she enjoyed herself at the festival, she may be an angsty drill loli but she deserves some attention too. And it ended in a nice place with Subaru going on that promised date with Emilia, it’s unfortunate that the events of Arc 3 still await them at this time but the memories they made will always be there. And oh yeah, there was a surprising KonoSuba reference in this, definitely wasn’t expecting that lol, I hear the authors of both series are friends tho so that’s neat. And I think I’ve gone on long enough about this SoL fanservice movie lol, just goes to show I can yap about anything. And next up is the prequel movie, and then I can finally hit up Season 2. |
| I finally decided to check this OVA out since the 4th season really got me back into Re:zero and I gotta say, I feel kinda dumb for not checking out this gem sooner! I had pretty low expectations but man I really enjoyed every minute of this! I think I'm gonna start a tradition of rewatching this OVA every Christmas since I think it would really fit with the holiday. Oh and also, drunk Emilia is like, the cutest thing I have seen in a while. 🥰 |
| lmaooo emilia thought bro was 13? being a elf and not saying her age it's safe to assume she's hella old. holy fuck drunk Emilia's voice is damn cuuute. well done VA san. damn rem too? damn how old is this Beatrice? well that was not worth the 1 hour, but it was a bit of fun nonetheless. I really should have watched this after episode 11. now I got another movie to watch. |

| Boring and just seemed like an overly long episode of the show, and not even a good one. Not sure why this was shown in theaters, was this shown as part of a event or something? This is the only explanation that would made sense to me since there is really nothing special about it. |
