Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu

Kyoutarou Ichikawa may look like a shy and reserved middle school student, but deep within his heart is a bloodthirsty killer. His ultimate desire is to see his classmate Anna Yamada's beautiful face writhing in pain before he ends her life. But this fantasy may never come to fruition, as Ichikawa starts to see an entirely different side to Yamada.

Often seeking refuge in the library, Ichikawa frequently runs into Yamada. It is during these encounters that Ichikawa realizes his model classmate is actually an airhead who can never read the room. As they spend more time together, the boy cannot help but feel not only a sense of endearment toward the very girl he wishes to murder but also a desire to protect her at all costs. Is it possible that this sudden change in Ichikawa's perspective could lead to something more?

Have you ever watched an anime that completely shattered your expectations?

I remember watching this thinking "Eh, probably another awkward romance where the guy and girl have some random gimmick. Maybe she secretly speaks Russian, maybe she's cute but legally blind without her glasses, maybe she's tan and bullies him but it's actually just teasing, maybe they're fake dating for absolutely no reason or maybe worst becoming Inukai'-san dog"

You know... the standard seasonal romance starter pack. This anime baited me into thinking it'd be another gimmicky rom-com, then quietly sat me down and said, ... "Actually... what if we just wrote two genuinely weird teenagers fall in love?"

- KARTE 1 STORY: FIRST IMPRESSIONS CAN BE COMPLETELY WRONG
One of the smartest things The Dangers in My Heart does is completely subvert our first impressions of its characters. When we first meet Kyotaro Ichikawa, he seems like the typical edgy loner protagonist. He isolates himself from his classmates, spends most of his time inside his own imagination, and creates these exaggerated fantasies where he sees himself as someone consumed by darkness. His thoughts about violence, especially toward someone like Anna Yamada, make him look like the kind of character who thinks he's above everyone else and secretly believes he is special. But the series takes a much more interesting approach. It doesn't treat Kyotaro's darkness as something cool or admirable. Instead, it shows that it's a defense mechanism, his way of coping.

His fantasies are not about power. They're about distance.

Kyotaro has convinced himself that keeping people away is easier than risking rejection. Underneath all the dramatic thoughts and the edgy persona he has is just a lonely kid who doesn't really know how to connect with his peers. Then we have Anna Yamada. She's beautiful, she's a model, and she's the popular girl everyone notices. From Kyotaro's perspective, she feels almost untouchable. But the funny thing is, the real Anna is nothing like the perfect image he creates in his head. She's a black hole for snacks, she gets distracted easily, she can be awkward, she misses obvious social cues, and she makes plenty of silly mistakes. She's not some flawless fantasy girl. She's just a weird teenager. And that's what makes her interesting. The more Kyotaro gets to know Anna, the more that idealized image disappears. She stops being someone he imagined and becomes someone he actually understands.

- KARTE 2 ROMANCE: THEIR RELATIONSHIP GROWS NATURALLY
What makes Kyotaro and Anna's relationship interesting is that it doesn't begin with instant immediate romance. Their connection develops slowly, starting with simple curiosity before becoming something deeper. Kyotaro doesn't fall for Anna because of one dramatic moment. His feelings grow through all the small interactions they share. The conversations, the time spent together, and the little moments that seem insignificant at first slowly become the things he values the most.

This is where The Dangers in My Heart separates itself from a lot of romance anime. It doesn't rush its characters into a relationship just because the story needs one. It takes time to show two people becoming comfortable with each other first. Their romance works because it feels like a natural progression. Friendship comes before affection, and affection comes before love. The series understands that feelings usually develop quietly and sometimes you don't notice someone becoming important until they already are.

Kyotaro's journey isn't about suddenly realizing he likes Anna It's about slowly realizing how much she has become a part of his life.

- KARTE 3 CHARACTERS: BEYOND THE ARCHETYPES
One of the strengths of The Dangers in My Heart is that its characters don't feel like they're only there to serve the romance. They feel like actual teenagers. Kyotaro's group of friends is a great example of this. They aren't some perfectly mature group that always gives the right advice. They're middle school boys. They're loud, immature, and honestly pretty horny. They make dumb jokes, obsess over girls, and act exactly like kids that age would. At first, they might seem like simple comic relief, but they help make the world feel more believable. They remind us that Kyotaro is still just a normal teenager surrounded by other normal teenagers.

Anna is another example of this. She isn't written as the perfect popular girl who has everything figured out. She's a middle school student too who happens to be beautiful and well known, but she is still childish, impulsive, and awkward in her own ways. She gets excited over small things, has strange habits, and doesn't always understand how she comes across. Those imperfections are what make her feel like an actual person rather than a fantasy character.

They're just a bunch of middle schoolers trying to understand friendships, attraction, embarrassment, and themselves.

- KARTE 4 IT UNDERSTANDS THE AWKWARDNESS OF GROWING UP
The reason The Dangers in My Heart connects with so many people is because, underneath all the romance and comedy, it understands something very specific about growing up. It's a time where you want people to understand you, but you don't always know how to express yourself. Kyotaro's journey represents that feeling perfectly. He starts off believing that keeping his distance is easier, but through his experiences with Anna, he slowly learns how meaningful genuine connections can be.

What makes his relationship with Anna so satisfying is the way his feelings develop naturally. It starts from misunderstanding, becomes curiosity, grows into friendship, and eventually turns into love. The reason this progression works is because it feels human. Feelings don't always appear instantly. Sometimes they grow from simply spending time with someone and slowly realizing that person has become important to you.

The Dangers in My Heart understands that being young is messy. People can be insecure, immature, and confused while still wanting to be understood.

- KARTE 5 FINAL THOUGHTS
The Dangers in My Heart looks like the kind of anime that should be easy to dismiss. The title sounds edgy, the premise sounds strange, and Kyotaro's introduction makes it seem like another exaggerated loner protagonist story. But instead of relying on those ideas as gimmicks, the series turns them into a surprisingly heartfelt coming of age story. It succeeds because it understands its characters. It understands awkward teenagers, small moments, and the complicated process of growing up.

Kyotaro and Anna's story works because they don't feel like perfect romance characters. They feel like two kids slowly learning about themselves and each other.

The Dangers in My Heart isn't just a romance anime. It's a coming of age story about two people learning how to understand puberty.

Mixed Feelings

Yes, I like this anime but is it really just the anime? Lets analyze this show coming from an inexperienced reviewer

The show starts out rough and it was a little bit difficult to watch but in a way I think everyone had this kind of phase. He is probably around 12-14 and it's normal for kids to be a bit different as we watch the show we see him becoming more open to others, I liked the jokes and the trope the show has a side couple which is also fun to watch. But most of the show was focused on the 2 main characters ... so that was a little bit disappointing.

Overall there is nothing going wrong with the show i think it's very good and don't check my profile because it says 9/10 but it's probably adjusted by the time you read this.

For me it's a watch but I think it's a little bit rough to watch for most people so it's a 50/50 with mixed feelings.

The Dangers in My Heart

First of all why this show has this high rating, that’s the real question??

Back then definition of romance anime was shows like (Clannad After Story.) From starting to end everything was perfect romance, emotions, story, characters, animation and most important a feeling of satisfaction. Even today you watch it you feel the same.

Now they don’t make shows like this anymore.

But today we have shows like Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu which are crossing all limits of cringness and nonsense with no logic.

... No matter from which angle you see this show, it makes no sense at all.

Story
We have two school kids as always but that’s not even the problem. The real problem is our MC and FMC.

FMC is literally a brain dead character. Eating chips and giving empty wrapper to MC, eating candy and giving empty box to MC, randomly crying in class for no reason. And this is supposed to be cute?? This is her whole personality. I seriously can't tell how difficult to tolerate this cringe

MC is no better. He is just another loser simp like Rent a Girlfriend MC. His entire role is to clean the mess of FMC and follow her like a servant. Rest of the time he is busy listening to what her friends are talking about and where she is going. That’s it.

The show tries to make these small things look deep and emotional but in reality it’s just awkward and repetitive nonsense. Same type of scenes again and again, same reactions, same overthinking.

The biggest problem is the pacing. The show moves painfully slow. Small moments are dragged for too long, and the anime treats every tiny interaction like it’s something huge. A simple conversation or eye contact gets stretched into a full emotional scene, and after a while it just feels forced.

No hate but in reality this show is overhyped trash. Annoying characters, no logic, no real story, Just another cringe school romance pretending to be deep.
