Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Forty-one years ago on Planet Vegeta, home of the infamous Saiyan warrior race, King Vegeta noticed a baby named Broly whose latent power exceeded that of his own son. Believing that Broly's power would one day surpass that of his child, Vegeta, the king sends Broly to the desolate planet Vampa. Broly's father Paragus follows after him, intent on rescuing his son. However, his ship gets damaged, causing the two to spend years trapped on the barren world, unaware of the salvation that would one day come from an unlikely ally.

Years later on Earth, Gokuu Son and Prince Vegeta—believed to be the last survivors of the Saiyan race—are busy training on a remote island. But their sparring is interrupted when the appearance of their old enemy Frieza drives them to search for the last of the wish-granting Dragon Balls on a frozen continent. Once there, Frieza shows off his new allies: Paragus and the now extremely powerful Broly. A legendary battle that shakes the foundation of the world ensues as Gokuu and Vegeta face off against Broly, a warrior without equal whose rage is just waiting to be unleashed.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is a peak anime movie. The animation is fire, and badass and is easily some of the best visuals the franchise has ever seen.

What really makes the movie stand out is how it reintroduces Broly with depth and background. Instead of being just a one note powerhouse, he’s given a compelling backstory that makes his character feel more human and, at times, even sympathetic (I felt bad for him and could complelty understand why he is wild and uncontrollable. The dynamic between Goku, Vegeta, and Broly creates a perfect balance of action and storytelling (I def perfer his hate steming towards ... Vegeta & his father over Goku like the OG Broly).

The fight scenes are intense and animated beautifully. Each moment feels impactful, and the soundtrack hits the moments hard.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is a must watch for fans & anyone who enjoys high energy & impressive animation.

I look forward to any future stories that are based off this movie (I want Broly to be in the story more...imagine future fights where Goku, Vegeta & Broly team up).

DBZ has a rubbish script and nothing innovative, I'm a big DBZ fan but Akira Toriyama didn't do anything innovative in this movie, this movie looked like a compilation of every DBZ movie I've seen before.

It's very ''script power'' Broly reach quintillion fighting power points just with his willpower, so if you follow this logic Broly could beat even Whis, this movie was just shit, the only one good thing was the animation

Don't get me wrong, I'm really a HUGE fan of DBZ series, and as a fan I would like the Author to have the least bit of empathy and not do the same ... story line EVER in every movie

It’s visually appealing, but to me it feels like an alternate version where everything loses some of its impact. The film borrows ideas from older OVAs and movies that already worked well, then reshapes them through unnecessary retcons.

I didn’t like the changes made to Broly. The destruction of Planet Vegeta, for example, felt much more heavy and sinister in the Bardock special.

The fights turn into a nonstop brawl with very little real choreography—just punches and kicks flying everywhere. Even though Broly is meant to be a brute, he used to have more memorable hits and brutal moments that actually stuck with you, and that’s mostly ... gone here.

At least the fusion shows up at the end and saves things a bit, working like the cherry on top.
